What We Believe |
---|
As heirs of the 16th Century Lutheran Reformation, we cherish the Christian faith as expressed in the apostles', Nicene and Athanasian creed, and the book of concord, a collection of Lutheran confessional statements based on the Holy scriptures. The bible for us is the inspired word of God that records the saving acts God has taken to deliver us from sin, satan and death through the promised coming of a Savior, Jesus Christ. The Bible is as Timothy expressed, "Useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the person of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17. The means of grace God uses to create in us faith and a life of service are the holy scripture, the sacraments of holy baptism (our entrance into life with God and the church) and holy communion. |
